The Winter Reset

Get your body ready for winter in Utah.

A summer of running, riding and hiking leaves hips, hamstrings and mid-back short and one-sided — and ski season doesn't wait for anybody. The Winter Reset is a short, targeted block of one-on-one assisted stretching that gets you onto the snow moving well, and keeps you there.

The offer

Everything in the Winter Reset

  • Three 55-minute assisted stretch sessions

One-on-one and hands-on with a movement specialist. Assisted PNF stretching and compression band therapy, aimed at what your evaluation actually found.

  • One 30-minute winter mobility evaluation

A proper look at how you move before anyone touches a hamstring: hip rotation, ankle dorsiflexion, thoracic extension and single-leg control.

  • A written plan you take with you

A short home routine sized for the ten minutes before you leave the house — the part that holds the gains through March.

  • Focus on your sport

Ski, snowboard, snowshoe, fat-tire bike or backcountry tour. The block is shaped around the one you're actually getting ready for.

Who it's for

Built for the handoff from summer sport to snow sport

Two kinds of people book the Winter Reset. Most are quietly both.

Coming off a summer season

Trail running, road and mountain biking, climbing, golf, pickleball, and four months of yard work. Repeating one pattern all summer leaves you short in predictable places and stronger on one side than the other. We unwind that before you ask your body to do something completely different.

Heading into a winter season

Snow sport asks for deep hip and ankle range, rotation through the mid-back, and the ability to absorb load in a flexed position — for hours. Most people turn up to opening day without any of it and spend the first three weeks catching up.

We build the block around your sport

  • Alpine skiing
  • Snowboarding
  • Snowshoeing
  • Fat-tire biking
  • Backcountry touring
  • Nordic skiing

Why it works

More mobility. Better performance. Less stiffness.

More mobility

Range comes back at the hip, ankle and thoracic spine — the three places snow sport asks the most of and most of us give the least.

Better performance

Usable range means cleaner turns, less energy spent fighting your own body, and more laps before your legs call it a day.

Less stiffness

Fewer of the first-run-of-the-day and morning-after-a-powder-day aches that quietly talk people into going home early.

How it works

Three sessions, one evaluation, one season's difference

01

Start with the evaluation

Thirty minutes of assessment. We look at how you actually move rather than how you feel standing still, and you leave knowing exactly what's limiting you.

02

Work through the three sessions

Three 55-minute one-on-one sessions using assisted PNF stretching, soft tissue mobilisation and compression band therapy, focused on what we found.

03

Take it onto the mountain

You finish with a short routine of your own and a clear idea of what to do on the mornings you're first in the car park.

Ninety days. First chair to spring corn.

Buy by November 30 and your sessions stay live for 90 days. Run the whole block before opening weekend, or space it across the first month of the season — either way you go into winter moving better than you came out of summer.

Questions

Before you book

Who is the Winter Reset for?
Anyone heading into a Utah winter who wants to move well doing it — skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, fat-tire riders, backcountry tourers, and people who are simply coming off a busy summer and don't want to carry the stiffness into the cold. It's open to both new and existing Utah Stretch clients.
I've never had assisted stretching. What actually happens?
You stay fully clothed and lie on a padded table while a movement specialist moves your limbs through their range for you, holding and releasing in a rhythm you'll quickly get used to. It's hands-on but it isn't a massage and it isn't meant to hurt — you should finish a session feeling longer and looser, not wrung out.
Do I need to be flexible or already in shape?
No. The evaluation exists precisely so the sessions start from where you are. People arrive at every level, from people who ski forty days a year to people who haven't touched their toes since high school.
What should I wear?
Comfortable athletic clothing you can move in — leggings or shorts and a t-shirt are ideal. Socks stay on. Nothing restrictive through the hips or shoulders.
How should I space the three sessions?
Most people do the evaluation first and then take the three sessions roughly a week to ten days apart, which fits the block comfortably inside the 90-day window. If you're up against an opening weekend we can tighten it up — just say so when you book.
When does the offer end, and how long do I have to use it?
The Winter Reset has to be purchased by November 30. Once purchased, your sessions stay valid for 90 days from the date of purchase.
Where are you?
47 East Fort Union Blvd, Suite 201, Midvale, UT 84047 — just off Fort Union Boulevard, easy to reach from Salt Lake City, Murray, Sandy, Cottonwood Heights and the rest of the Wasatch Front, and on the way to both Cottonwood canyons.
Can I buy one for somebody else?
Yes — send us a note using the form on this page and we'll set it up for you.
That didn't send. Please try again, or call us on (801) 738-7966 and we'll sort it out.

Thanks — that's with us.

We'll come back to you shortly, usually the same day. Keep an eye on your inbox, and check the spam folder just in case.
