The Assessment
Before we start, your Stretch Therapist will ask you a few questions about your general mobility, health and goals.
Starting with a gentle fascia warm up (preparing the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and other structures in your body), your Stretch Therapist will start to assess how your body moves to determine the right approach and the best outcome for you.
The Intensity Level
Everyone is different and experiences stretching in a unique way. To make it easier to communicate this to your Stretch Therapist, we use a simple 3,5,7 method.
You’ll be asked to use just 3 numbers to describe how you’re experiencing the stretch.
3 = Mild, just beginning to feel the stretch
5 = Medium, a comfortable stretch
7 = Sweet spot, you can’t stretch any further
It’s important to remember that stretching should not hurt or damage your muscles. Pain is not the aim.
Full Body Assisted stretching
Whilst you might feel niggling or long term pain in one area of your body, we always recommend a full body stretch for your first time.
Pain felt in one area of the body is often connected to another so we will fully assess how your body moves and what works best for you.
“I usually go to the osteopath to ease my neck and shoulder pain and this was my first time at Utah Stretch and Flexibility. I felt amazing, my whole body was treated, my neck and shoulder felt great and it cost less than my usual osteopath appointment - i’ll be back soon for sure!”

What to Wear
Wear anything you are comfortable in that is not too restrictive. Oh, and always a clean pair of socks please.
Your Stretch Therapist will move your body so please make sure your clothing allows for free movement where you are concealed.
You won’t get sweaty or need to shower. If you forget your socks, we’ll have pairs available to purchase in the studio.
